Other Old Home Renovators:
House Blogs - A site tracker for
old house lovers. If it is on this page I won't list it below.
Our House
- Another young couple restoring a Victorian home.
Our Victorian
- A Victorian restoration in California.
Brickman House-
Another farm house restoration. A fun page to read.
Old House
Restoration-
Not really much of a site about a specific home, but has some tips that
these people must have learned through the years.
Chilton House-
A Texas Victorian.
Enon Hall - Another GREAT page, but it
will take you awhile to catch up since they've been slaving away since 1999.
Bang Your Thumb - A Victorian
row house restoration.
Lott House Project - An old Dutch
farm house in New York.
Farmertan House - A townhouse
restoration.
Stone Farm House - The name
says it all.
The David Wilcox House
- This house was relocated.
Products we used:
Woodharbor Doors and Cabinetry
- The company where my husband works. Where we got our replacement doors
and cabinetry.
Kolbe and Kolbe - The company we
got our windows from. They were much cheaper than other companies we looked
at with the same quality of product. The only problem is they don't have
many choices for the aluminum cladding colors.
Traditional Home-building
- This page has more links to supplies than you'll ever be able to get
through.
Monikas Treasures
- I fell in love with a light from her site and HAD to have it shipped
across the ocean. She was wonderful to work with.
E-bay
- I'll admit it, I'm a junkie. But how can you resist?
Historic House Parts
- We got our foyer light here. They shipped fast and it was in
incredible shape.
Vintage Woodworks
- We got the post for the south porch here. It was just so much nicer than
the ones at Home Depot.
Rejuvenation
- Absolutely beautiful light fixtures! Order their catalog. It is so
beautiful it could be a coffee table book. I love their philosophy!
Van Dyke Supply
- All sorts of goodies here. We've gotten quite a bit of hardware from this
site.
Warner Crivellaro
- Where we found our stain glass for the attic peaks. One complaint though, pictures in the
catalog are not at all true to color.
We want soooo badly:
Scott Porter Designs-
Build your garage to look like an old fashioned carriage house. We think
that the gothic one with the large central peak would be perfect for our
home.
Taylor's Victorian Screen
Doors - Old fashioned wooden
screen doors.
Misc.:
Pleasant Grove Cemetery - This is
where we found the grave site of the man who built our home.
Preservation Online
- I like to read this page when I get some spare time. Even though it
makes me sad most of the time.
Historic Properties
- Oh, if I had a money tree...
Kindling - A
newspaper article about what it takes to restore an old home.
Cyndi's list -
Information on researching the history of your home.
Forgotten Detroit - A site
dedicated to the decaying old structures in Detroit.
Folk
Victorian Information - Description of the style of our house.
Iowa Barn Foundation - We
are trying to decide if this would be a good deal for us or not.
