MARSHALL - Services for Franklin "Frank" J. Schultz, 66, of Marshall, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Stephen Lutheran Church in Marshall. Burial will be in the Marshall Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer service today at the Hamilton Funeral Home. Visitation will continue at the church Tuesday, one hour prior to the service.
Frank passed away at the Minneota Manor on Saturday, Oct. 11, 2008.
Franklin "Frank" Joseph Schultz was born to Evangelus John and Doris (Oldham) Schultz on Nov. 28, 1941, in Cedar Falls, Iowa.
He was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith at Cedar Falls. He graduated from Crater High School in Central Point, Ore. He was a member of the Army National Guard in Oregon, Mankato and Marshall.Frank came to Marshall and opened, owned and operated Toni's Pizza on East College Drive from 1969 to 1992. On July 26, 1996, Frank was united in marriage to E.J. (Moret) Veldhuisen. Together they opened Toni's Depot on West Main Street in 1996. Frank loved being with family and friends at the lake. He thoroughly enjoyed his life ambition of serving people and making his customers happy. He truly had a servant's heart shown in all the food provided to college and high school sports teams and civic organizations. He was a huge fan of local sports, especially basketball. Frank was a faithful member of St. Stephen Lutheran Church. He touched many lives as a friend, boss and family member.
He is survived by his wife, E.J. of Marshall; two daughters, Shari (Paul) Prausc of Alexandria and Denise Schultz of New Hope; three step-children, Darin (Mary) Veldhuisen of Marshall, Kevin (Anne) Veldhuisen of Dubuque, Iowa, and Karlin (Steve) Ziegler of Hayfield; four step-grandchildren, Kylie, Christopher and Kooper Veldhuisen, and Kaden Ziegler; a sister, Mary Rowden of Central Point, Ore.; also many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Doris Flannery.

Velma Anderson, 75, died March 19, 2009 at the Regency Care Center in Norwalk. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m., March 24, 2009, at McCalley-Collins Funeral Home in Winterset.
Velma was born on March 10, 1934, at Madison County, Iowa to Carl and Berniece (Cox) Phearman. She was married on January 25, 1955 at Winterset, to Wallace Lee Anderson. She was a graduate of Winterset High School and had spent most of her life in Winterset. She had been a certified medical assistant and had worked at the former Winterset Doctors Office.
Velma is survived by her daughters, Janis (Nathan) Hovland of Cambridge, IA, Jill (Jeff) Bloom of Portland, OR, Joy (Terrence) Bosteder of Seattle, WA, and Judi (Bill) Althoff of Edgewood, IA; nine grandchildren; and three great- grandchildren.
Visitation will be Monday from noon to 8 p.m., at McCalley-Collins Funeral Home with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials may be directed to her family.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by McCalley-Collins Funeral Home in Winterset.
