Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Murley A. Severstson officiating. Burial will be in the Park Cemetery in Nora Springs.Mrs. Martin was born Dec. 25, 1893, at Ralls Township in Cerro Gorado County to Lorenz and Maria (Hinrichsen) Christiansen. She attended rural Falls Townsip School and graduated from the Noras Springs Seninary.
She married Lloyd Baughey in Noara Springs. Later she married John Martin in Nora Springs. He died in 1937.
Mrs. Martin worked at First State Bank n Nora Springs as a teller for many years and later at First National Bank in Mason City. She retired in 1958.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Charch and a former member of the Eastern Star Lodge of Nora Springs.
Survivors include a stipdaughter Milderd Mcneil of California; a stepson, Wayne Martin, Clarksville, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by

Christiansen Palzer, Myrna M. “Chris.” Myrna “Chris” Palzer died Monday (April 5, 2004) at Life Care Hospital of Plano, TX. Myrna was born May 5, 1939, in rural Ventura, IA. She was a member of Abiding Savior Lutheran Church in Corpus Christi, TX where she served on the alter guild. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and scrapbooking with her daughter Stephanie. She enjoyed traveling to WA to visit her son Todd and his children when she retired. She enjoyed collecting antiques with her daughter Stacie and her son Trent.
Always trying to help others, she was a teacher in Osage, IA in the late 1950’s, and later retired from the State of Texas Human Services Dept. in 1998. She continued her social work after retiring, by working with people to appeal social security insurance rights until 2003. Her loving mother, Jessie “Dolly” Christiansen, preceded her in death in 2000. She is survived by her loving father, Leonard R. Christiansen of Mason City, IA; brother Leonard Christiansen, Jr. and wife Joan, of Mobile, AL; sister Laurie L. Stauffer and husband Gary, of Sumner, IA; son Todd, of Olympia, WA; daughter Stephanie Wolfe and husband Darin, of Richardson, TX; son Trent, of Lewisville, TX; daughter Stacie, of Haltom City, TX; four wonderful grandchildren; Patrick and Nicholas Palzer, and Savannah and Evan Wolfe, five nephews, two great-nephews, and extended family and friends.
Memorial services will be held at Abiding Savior Lutheran Church in Corpus Christi on April 24th at 10:00 a.m. and inurnment at Memorial Park Cemetery in Mason City, IA on May 5th.
