Michael D. Oldham, 62, of 3020 W. 32nd St., died at 9 p.m. Friday, July 7, 2000, at home, after a short illness.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Ghost Catholic Church. Entombment will be in Resurrection Garden Mausoleum at Mount Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home, 2659 Kennedy Road, where there will be a Holy Ghost Parish scripture wake service at 3 p.m. and the Knights of Columbus Council 510 will recite the rosary at 6:30 p.m.
Mr. Oldham was an assembler and foreman at John Deere Dubuque Works for 34 years, retiring in 1992. He most recently worked in staff management at John Deere and coordinated tours at the plant.
He was born on May 29, 1938, in Charles City, Iowa, son of Francis L. and Edith (Murray) Oldham. He married Elizabeth "Darlene" Rayhons on June 1, 1959, in Duncan, Iowa.
He was raised in Charles City and moved to Dubuque in 1956, where he attended Loras College.
He was a member of Holy Ghost Parish, John Deere Supervisors Club, John Deere "I" Club, the Knights of Columbus Council 510 and the Fourth Degree Doubourg Assembly. He enjoyed golfing and playing bridge.
Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth "Darlene" of Dubuque; his children, Pamela Oldham, of Muscatine, Iowa, Michael (Mary) Oldham, of Dubuque, David (Debra) Oldham, of Anamosa, Iowa, and Kevin (Venita) Oldham, of Sterling, Ill.; grandchildren, Joshua, Justin, Emily, Abigail and Alexandria Oldham; brothers, Jack (Barb) Oldham, of Mason City, Iowa, Alan (Marian) Oldham, of Billings, Mont., Richard (Peggy) Oldham, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Paul (Janet) Oldham, of Algona, Iowa; sisters, Cathy (Larry) Phearman, of Mason City, Sister Francesca Oldham, of Cedar Rapids, and Imelda (Chuck) Housh, of Chicago; and a sister-in-law, Edith (Bud) Oldham-Schon, of Dubuque.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Jim and Joe Oldham; and a sister, Sister MaryEllen Oldham.
A Michael D. Oldham Memorial Fund has been established.

CHARLES CITY — John Robert (Jack) Oldham Sr., 76, passed away on Saturday (March 13, 2004) at his residence.
Mr. Oldham was born March 6, 1928, in Charles City, Iowa, to Francis and Edith Oldham. He graduated from high school in Charles City, Iowa, in 1945 and went to Hamilton Business College in Mason City, where he graduated in 1946.
During high school and college, he worked at Charles City Granite Works with his father, Francis, who was a stonecutter, and did layout, stencil cutting, complete shop and sales manager at that time.
He entered military service on March 6, 1946, and received an honorable discharge in 1948.
He worked at Firestone Tire & Rubber Co. as an ac-countant to the office credit manager in a large store in Jacksonville, Fla., in 1951.
He later worked at Service Electric Co. (a major appliance and electrical contractor) in the position of sales manager until 1953 and also worked in the restaurant and motel business for five years until 1958.
He worked for Independent Life Insurance Co. for 11 years in sales and was promoted to superintendent until 1969.
Upon returning home to Iowa due to his father’s failing health, he returned to Charles City Granite Works in cemetery supervisory work.
In 1973, he met Barb Huffman Meyer they married on Nov. 10, 1975. They built onto their home in 1980 and moved their business of the Full Fledge Pet Store full-time.
He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He also loved to decoupage. Because of his health, they retired and moved to Florida in 1999.
He was a member of Knights of Columbus, joined the American Legion on San Juan and was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Barb; daughters, Imelda Bertrand (husband Les), Paula Douglas (husband, Barry), of Jacksonville Fla., BrendaSue Solheim (husband Ron) of Eagle Grove, Iowa, Trisha Ann Barnish (husband John) of Charles City; sons, John Robert Oldham Jr. of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., August Meyer of Charles City, Allan Meyer (wife Heather) of Mason City, William Meyer (partner Linda) of Linn Grove; brothers, Al Oldham (wife Marion) of Montana, Rick Oldham (wife Peg) of Cedar Rapids, Paul Oldham (wife Janet) of Algona; sisters, Sister Francesca Oldham of Cedar Rapids, Cathy Phearman (husband Larry) of Plymouth and Mel Housh (husband Chuck) of Monee Ill.
Memorial Mass was held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 16, 2004, at St Paul’s Catholic Church in Jacksonville, Fla., with Father Thomas Sullivan officiating.

MASON CITY - Barbara Ann (Huffman-Meyer) Oldham, 68, of Mason City, died Monday (March 23, 2009) at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit.
A funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 26, 2009, at the Holy Family Catholic Church, 714 N. Adams Ave., Mason City, with the Rev. Jon M. Seda officiating.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 25, 2009, at the Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 Third St. N.E. Mason City, with a rosary service at 6:30 p.m., followed by a scriptural wake.
Memorials may be made to the Barbara Oldham Memorial Fund.
Barbara Ann was born April 28, 1940, in Charles City, to Alice (Jordan) and Chester Huffman. She received her GED when she was 35 from NIACC in Mason City. She moved to Mason City Nov. 24, 1973, and started her own business, Tropical Fish Unlimited, June 16, 1973. Barbara married John R. Oldham Nov. 10, 1975.
Her first love was her husband, children and grandchildren. She loved her fish and pets, computer, crocheting, playing pool and fishing.
She is survived by her four daughters, BrendaSue Meyer of Eagle Grove, Trisha (John) Barnish of Charles City, Imelda (Les) Bertrand of Jacksonville, Fla., and Paula (Barry) Douglas of Jacksonville, Fla.; four sons, William Meyer and (Linda) of Linn Grove, August (Monica) Meyer of Nashua, Allan (Heather) Meyer of Mason City and John R. Oldham Jr. of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.; 14 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; her sister, Marcy (Andy) Nixt, of Greene; and brothers, Chester (Marlene) Huffman, of Charles City and Jim (Dixie) Huffman, of Mesa, Ariz.
Barbara is preceded in death by her husband, John Oldham Sr., March 13, 2004; mother, Alice Huffman, on May 5, 1992; and father, Chester Huffman, on Oct. 22, 1992; and sons, Richard Oldham on May 9, 1989, and Frank Oldham on June 14, 2003; her sister, Dixie Waterbury in January, 2007; and two grandchildren, Joshua Barnish and Christopher Sears.
